❄️ Opal Rose Cold Weather Safety Reminder for Our Clients

As temperatures begin to drop, it’s especially important for our seniors to stay warm and protected. Cold weather can increase the risk of illness, joint stiffness, and respiratory issues — but a little preparation goes a long way. 💙

Here are simple ways to dress safely in cold weather:

🧥 Layer your clothing: Start with a soft base layer (like cotton or thermal), add a warm sweater, and finish with a jacket or coat.
🧣 Protect the neck & chest: Use scarves to keep cold air away from sensitive areas and help prevent coughs and chills.
🧤 Keep hands covered: Gloves or mittens help maintain circulation and reduce the risk of cold-related joint pain.
🧦 Warm socks are essential: Wool or thick cotton socks help keep feet warm — especially for those with poor circulation.
👟 Closed-toe shoes: Avoid sandals or open footwear. Choose shoes with warm lining or sneakers paired with thick socks.
