Ultrasound cavitation fights localized fat through the external surface of the skin, breaking down the adipose cells and fragmenting its fat content. Ultrasound can produce many effects. It has been shown to cause increase in tissue relaxation, local blood flow, and scar tissue breakdown.
Ultrasound also helps to reduce the pain by increasing circulation and increasing nutrient transfer. Second is the decrease in pain from reduction of swelling and edema.
