On Saturday, the CWCD team had the honor of supporting the Working on Wellness initiative at The Woodson. It was truly inspiring to be in community with so many incredible women.
During our presentation, we affirmed what was already evident—there was knowledge and wisdom in the room. Our clinician, Keyy, guided participants through grounding practices to help settle the body. Our practice manager, Callin, shared valuable information on available resources.
Dr. Brittany spoke on the importance of learning to settle the body—not to numb, disconnect, or shut down, but to stay present and curious. What is your body telling you? What emotion are you experiencing? Healing begins with awareness.
Thank you to The Woodson for having us!

It started with a dedication to helping others and investing in the community
Many young people find themselves drawn to a career in social work, a helping profession, as a result of life experience or due to a natural tendency towards caring for others and their community. It is my vision that those committed to the profession of Social Work will be fully credentialed and highly skilled clinicians. By investing in ourselves as clinicians, we then enhance the overall services provided to those who choose us when they are in need. For those seeking services, it is my vision that you receive the care you deserve, non-judgmentally, from a well-trained professional. Additionally, seeing a therapist should not carry a stigma when therapy is, in actuality, a necessary part of self-care. By investing in ourselves, we are investing in our community.
