The mission of St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation is to fund medical equipment, programs and team member scholarships in support of St. St.

Anthony’s Hospital’s provision of quality, compassionate care to this community. Anthony's Hospital Foundation supports the development of St. Anthony's Hospital into a world-class medical facility through philanthropic support of its many capital projects, service line development, clinical education and other programs that improve the health of the community.

The Nursing Bladder Scanner is this week’s feature! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation was able to fund this essential piece of medical equipment for the Emergency Services Department.

This device provides quick, noninvasive bladder assessments that streamline the diagnostic process, enhance accuracy, and reduce wait times for patients.

Assistant Nurse Manager of Emergency Services, Marcia Boer, shared:
“The new bladder scanner has greatly contributed to a more efficient and patient-centered approach. It has minimized discomfort and anxiety during our patients’ visits.”

✨ An Unprecedented Gift for St. Anthony's Hospital Foundation! ✨

St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation is deeply honored to receive a $5.2 million gift from the Richard I. Kurtz Trust — an unprecedented act of generosity that will help fund vital medical equipment, patient programs, and scholarships for our dedicated team members.

Mr. Kurtz, a generous local businessman and supporter of health care and military charities, passed away in 2024. In a powerful act of faith, he entrusted his dear friends Debra and Nancy Harris to choose a 501(c)(3) charity to receive his residuary estate — and they chose St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation without hesitation.

Debra, a former St. Anthony’s Hospital team member, shares, “Richard knew how much St. Anthony’s provided an important sense of belonging and accomplishment for me but also how much it contributes to our community by providing excellent care. It is so much more than a workplace.”

Mr. Kurtz's transformative gift will support quality, compassionate care at St. Anthony’s Hospital for generations to come. We are deeply grateful for this generous act of faith that ensures the mission and future of St. Anthony's Hospital.

Our Story

St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation serves as the point of contact for all charitable contributions benefiting St. Anthony’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Today, multiple programs and services throughout St. Anthony’s are being supported or significantly enhanced by philanthropy. Cancer care programs, new cardiac initiatives, neurosciences research, and behavioral health issues are just a few of the important areas upon which we are currently focusing. Our mission is to advocate, educate and communicate the value of the hospital to our community. We hope to inspire giving that will improve health and elevate hope for advanced healing in St. Petersburg.

There are so many examples of people who are helping to improve health care in our community. Whether participating in events hosted by the Foundation, volunteering, raising awareness or simply donating directly to their area of interest, thousands of people are doing great things on our behalf. Whether large or small, these efforts collectively make a huge impact.
