Nearly one in four U.S. adults experience mental health issues annually, with anxiety and depression being the most common. In recognition of Mental Health Awareness month, BayCare is shining a light on the need to reduce stigma and advocate for greater access to mental health resources by illuminating each of our 16 hospitals in green throughout the month of May. We also are recognizing our team for the compassionate care they provide to our patients and their families. Each Memorial Day, St. Anthony's Hospital sets the Fallen Soldier Table to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Also known as the Missing Man Table, it also represents those who are still considered missing in action. We honor them today and every day.

Congratulations to Valerie, a St. Anthony's registered nurse, who recently was recognized with a DAISY Award. Many team members and colleagues nominated Valerie for displaying compassionate care while treating family members with kindness and respect. Valerie is a hard-working team member who demonstrates leadership through her actions and attitude. Valerie exemplifies the core values of nursing. Her efforts reflect the very best of patient-centered care and kindness. The DAISY Foundation has a national recognition program for nurses doing extraordinary work for patients and families and is among the highest accolades in the nursing profession. We're so proud to have Valerie on our team. 💙

Last week, we celebrated BayCare Week to recognize all of our team members for the extraordinary care that they provide to patients and to each other. This was the first year for our BayCare Graduate Medical Education internal medicine residents to enjoy our annual celebration. And they shared why they like being a part of our St. Anthony's and BayCare family.

Congratulations Tonika, a St. Anthony's nurse, who loved the way that nurses cared for her grandmother at our hospital and decided to work toward becoming one. We are so proud of Tonika on her amazing achievement as she balanced work and family to receive her graduate degree in nursing from the University of South Florida. Now, she'll watch her goddaughter graduate from high school after already graduating college through dual enrollment. We’re proud she’s part of the St. Anthony's and BayCare family and proud to be part of her incredible journey. 🎓💙

As we come to the end of another BayCare Week, we have been honoring our team for the compassionate care they provide to every patient every day.

This year’s theme, Backed by Values. Powered by Teamwork, was certainly felt throughout St. Anthony's because we approach each day as team members who are dedicated to our patients. But we also support each other in every way.

We enjoyed our annual picnic, paused for a little co****le, searched for tiny ducks that were hidden around the hospital and ended the week with a nice popcorn treat.

Thanks so much to our awesome team members who are constantly going above and beyond for our patients and for each other. That's the BayCare Effect! 🫶
