My main motivation to eat well is to feel good. When tempted to stop and get a bagel and cream cheese with a sugar bomb latte stop and 🤔 think for a moment how you will feel afterwards or even hours later. Some foods no matter how tasty are just not worth it!!!

🍒What you put on your plate plays a powerful role in how you feel- physically, mentally and emotionally. When you eat well, you fuel your body with the nutrients it needs to thrive. That means more energy, better focus, improved digestion, stable moods, and even better sleep.

I thought it would be helpful to share my weekly grocery list. These foods work well for me and my goals, let me find your tailored grocery list to help you with your personal goals!!

One of the easiest ways to clean up your nutrition is to start trying to make most of your meals a “plate method” meal.

Plate Method

1) At least half of your plate vegetables
2) Limit a carbohydrate choice (Not processed, higher fiber) to 25% of plate
3) At least 25% of your plate a lean protein

With the plate method you can eat a nice sized portion and feel very satisfied -all while getting a punch pack of nutrients. I’m all about volume. When it comes to food, less is not more for me. I want to feel full and packed w vitamins and minerals and feel energized. You need to eat to fuel your metabolism!

Pro Tip: Keep it as simple, yet appetizing as possible. This was my lunch and took me less than 5 mins to throw together at the time I wanted to eat it. I did grill up a bunch of chicken in advance and did roast a bunch of beets and sweet potatoes in advance. ——>A few hrs once a week of prepping some basics to use throughout the week is essential!!

Understanding your body’s unique metabolic rate will allow Registered Dietitians to customize your weight loss or healthy weight gain goals all while improving your body composition. As we know the number on the scale is just a number. Why should you test your metabolic rate?

1) It can screen for a slowed metabolism that may explain frustrated attempts to lose weight. Or even reverse, it can screen for a fast metabolism or help pin point an under eater which can cause weight gain and/prevent weight loss.

2) It can reveal changes in your metabolism during the weight loss process that can help trouble shoot a frustrating plateau.

3) Once you reach your goal, an RMR measurement can give you the precise caloric prescription for maintenance to help you sustain that goal weight.
