Save A Lot on 49th Street South and 22nd Avenue South in Gulfport is closing. This is deeply concerning.
I always thought smaller businesses were the ones that tended to suffer and close first but this is a major grocery store, and so many people shop here. The fact that even a larger business like this can’t survive here shows how serious the struggle is along our corridor.
This is not just about a store shutting its doors 🤧 it’s about the bigger picture of what’s happening in the Fusion 49th District. Businesses are hurting, the economy is weighing heavy, and without intentional support from our cities, we will continue to lose vital resources.
Losing a full grocery store in this area is not a good thing at all. We already face enough food deserts, and the closure of Save A Lot only makes it harder for families to access affordable groceries close to home.
This is exactly why Fusion 49th District is pushing so hard for investment, collaboration, and real action. Our corridor and our community matter. We need support before more businesses are forced to close.
City leaders we need you🎯. We need partnership, intentional planning, and immediate action to help save our businesses and strengthen this corridor. The people who live, work, and shop here deserve better to say the least 🧘🏾♀️.
