“Whenever I walked down the aisle to find my seat, you could sense what people were thinking — ‘I hope that guy doesn’t sit next to me.’” Antony’s story brings attention to the subtle but constant stigma people with obesity carry every day.

In 2022, Antony had gastric sleeve surgery with Dr. Huguet and his life has never been the same. The man who once requested the seatbelt extender is now completing triathlons.

We are proud to be part of Antony’s transformation, and we are cheering him on in the office and on the sidelines of his next triathlon!

🏃‍♀️ Our patients do incredible things!
Not too long ago, Missy sat in our office at her 6 month post-op appointment telling us about how she had her eyes on the St. Anthony’s triathlon. Now, she can say she’s crossed the finish line.

75 pounds down, and a level of strength and freedom she worked hard to earn, and the ink to prove it! We’ve been cheering her on the entire journey, and watching her turn a goal into reality!

65 pounds down with the Saint Anthony’s Meek and Mighty Triathlon on her radar 👀

Her “I don’t have to move fast I just have to go” mindset is EVERYTHING! Slow is not the opposite of progress. Slow IS progress. Missy gets that and it shows in every single pound she's left behind.
