Great reminders!

Great reminders!

Some things are too heavy for kids to carry — and they shouldn’t have to.
Your child needs security, not stress. Safety, not secrets.

Let them have the gift of being a kid.

✨ What we don’t share with our kids can shape them just as much as what we do. ✨

Co-Regulation 👯

Co-Regulation 👯

Children aren’t born knowing how to calm themselves — self-regulation is a skill that develops over time.

Before they can do it alone, they need co-regulation: a caring adult helping them feel safe enough to settle.

✨ Small shifts in language invite big opportunities for deeper connection. When we ask kids how their days were after school…. They’ll often answer with “fine” or “good.”

🤪 This doesn’t give grownups much insight and can leave caregivers frustrated. What kids really need is a chance to have space held for them to feel seen, heard, and understood. 💬💙

✅ Tips to get them talking:

• Be specific. Try: “What was the funniest thing that happened today?” or “What part of your day felt the longest?”

• Offer choices. Instead of a yes/no, ask: “Did you like recess or reading time better today?”

• Share first. Model openness: “I felt frustrated in traffic today. Did you feel frustrated at school?”

• Use routines. Ask during snack, car rides, or bedtime when they’re more relaxed.

• Listen fully. Put down the phone, make eye contact, and let silence give them space to answer.

✨ The goal isn’t a perfect question…. It’s showing your child that their thoughts and feelings matter every single day.👏❤️
