Wear masks in public
Wear eye protection in public
Stay at least 6 ft away (2 CVS receipts away) from others
Avoid touching your face
Wash your hands for 20 secs w soap and water OR use alcohol based sanitizers
Eat foods rich in antioxidants
Stay well hydrated (moist mucous membranes may re**rd COVID from adhering)
Be kind to one another

More and more patients, friends and family are asking for guidance, explanations and what to believe. The article below is from The Lancet, a very well respected, peer-reviewed journal.

No, Covid is not a hoax! It should NOT be a political football either.

For the record, I don’t like wearing a mask, but I do as it’s essential for us all to wear a mask. We are in Key West where it is REQUIRED to wear a mask everywhere. It really isn’t too much to ask that we all temporarily wear a mask until we get Covid under control.

If you have loved ones at higher risk of morbidity and mortality (over 65, overweight- especially BMI over 35, asthma, immune suppression- then encouraging them to wear eye protection (preferably goggles) in addition to a mask when out in public is a gesture of caring and love.

Keeping at least one metre from other people as well as wearing face coverings and eye protection, in and outside of health-care settings, could be the best way to reduce the chance of viral infection or transmission of COVID-19, according to a systematic review and meta-analysis synthesising all th...

Current thoughts are our most at risk population are those over 65, overweight, asthma, diabetes, hypertension and immune suppressed. I have been recommending to wear eye protection in addition to masks. COVID is a respiratory virus and infects via eyes, nose and mouth, just like influenza and the common cold.

Please consider wearing eye protection in addition to masks when in public places to protect yourselves!
