Rick Sonntag, RDT, has made those three words his mantra and core philosophy at 4Points Dental Designs in St. He has spent more than 20 years honing his abilities as a dedicated ceramist in Germany, the United States and Canada, crafting dental restorations that take patients’ smiles from ordinary to extraordinary. Premiere dental educational outlets, including The Dawson Academy have recognized his expertise as a skilled and knowledgeable dental technician. His passion for dental technology is such that he is an avid and lifelong student focusing on implementing new materials, improving techniques and developing new ways to enhance patients’ smiles. After a decade of training and working in Canada and Germany, Sonntag started his career in the United States at The International Center for Complete Dentistry, the clinical practice of The Dawson Academy. Throughout his career journey, he has studied with world-class clinicians and technicians. In addition, he is a former Accredited Ceramist with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, having become one of only a handful of technicians recognized by the Academy. Sonntag combines his ability, expertise and passion to help his dentist clients and their patients by bridging the gap between dentist and technician to create a synergy and a high-level of communication not usually found in traditional settings. Teamwork and communication about patient needs and desires are the key indicators for predictability and success in functional-esthetic dentistry, something he learned under Dr. Peter Dawson’s tutelage and still practices today.
