Full circle moment 🤍

Over 10 years ago, I sat across from the fabulous Tracey Kellner at my very first PROMPT training. This weekend, I got to assist alongside her as I begin my PROMPT instructor training journey.

If you’ve ever wondered why speech therapy works on words your child can already say, this is why.

Speech isn’t just about the word itself, it’s about how the mouth moves to produce it. A word like “ball” may sound clear on its own, but movement patterns matter more as words connect and speech grows.

That’s why familiar words are sometimes part of therapy, even when a child can already say them.

As I reflect on the past year and prepare for the new year, this thoughtful gift from a client was a reminder I didn’t know I needed 🤍

2025 was the year I went full time time with my private practice. A year of growth, plateaus, learning, unlearning, and trusting the process.

While I’m proud of that progress, my success is not measured in numbers, schedules, or milestones checked off.

It is knowing that even one child, one family, one life felt a little lighter because of our time together🫶🏻

I’m incredibly grateful for the work I get to do and the families who allow me to be part of their journey ✨

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy new year! 🎉

Winter break brings slower days and different routines.

That extra time at home can be a great opportunity to support communication in simple, everyday ways.

❄️Model a few core words during play, meals, and routines.
❄️Pause and give time to respond.
❄️Respond to every attempt to communicate, whether it’s AAC, gestures, pointing, or body language.

Small moments still matter!
