This week at Traditions 🌼

Thursday, we’ve got our first TCM class of the season, starting with “The 5 Element Theory” with Dr. Martina. The Five-Element theory describes five interrelated phases—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—that represent dynamic processes and qualities used to explain natural phenomena, body systems, emotions, and cycles of change. We’ll dive way deeper into this in class, so if this peaks your interest, come join Dr. Martina this Thursday from 6-8 pm. 🪴

Friday, we’re excited to host our first Kimchi Making class with Jade Skinner. Rooted in Korean tradition, Kimchi teaches us the beauty of fermentation and its probiotic, gut-supportive benefits. You’ll not only leave class feeling confident with how to make your own Kimchi, but also with two jars of your very own!! We’ve got just a few spots left in-person, so make sure to snag yours soon! 🫚🌶️🧅

We also have our first Trade Blanket event being hosted in the gardens with our Traditions Tea Truck. Have you ever heard of a Trade Blanket event? These gatherings are rooted in historical bartering where people bring handmade goods or crafts to exchange. Participants offer items like crafts, foods, services, or collectibles, describe them, and then negotiate trades with others in a circle, valuing creativity and gratitude. 💚

This Saturday, our lovely Saturday morning Qi Gong in the Gardens with Bob will be here from 8-9am. 🌳

We’re excited to be hosting another big Western Herbalism 101 class this Saturday and Sunday! Two days of full immersion into the world of herbalism, surrounded by like-minded folks and plant lovers. We’ve got just a few spots left for in-person this weekend. Come join us! 😊

Have a great week everyone!

We’re excited to get our TCM program going again! ✨

Our school practices two schools of thought, both Chinese Herbalism and Western Herbalism. These community classes are geared towards those interested in learning more about the theories, diagnostics, and guidelines of Traditional Chinese Herbalism and Medicine.

Each class is tailored to a specific topic and then we also offer our TCM Seasons Series which is one class per season, Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal. Each season influencing our unique systems in different ways. A great way to learn how to take care of yourself and others through each season, through a Chinese herbal lens.

Our teacher for these classes, Dr. Martina, is also one of our very own Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture Physicians, who is also super passionate about sharing this ancient wisdom with the community.

Come join us for our first class this Thursday, January 22 from 6-8pm. 🌿📚🌳
