Proton International Proton Therapy is the most advanced form of radiation therapy. Learn More http://protonkorea.org Providing world-class, first-rate medical care is a team effort.

Our objective of this international therapy community is mentoring those who may benefit from this advanced treatment seeking affordable treatment abroad internationally. Being newly diagnosed with cancer is a confusing and anxious time. And all members of the team are highly trained medical professionals. Traveling oversees for Proton Therapy treatment may seem daunting, but more cancer patients are doing so and are turning the treatment period into an adventure. Curtis Poling, a former Proton Therapy patient and survivor of prostate cancer, was instrumental in getting the first foreign patients treated in Korea at the National Cancer Center (NCC). Poling travels frequently helping foreign patients get acclimated abroad. Amazing The latest treatment is highly effective at eliminating hard-to-treat cancers while causing minimal side effects. This diagnosis was adenoid cystic carcinoma — a rare, highly invasive and often difficult-to-treat tumor — in the salivary gland.

“Managing this type of tumor is very difficult because of its natural tendency to be nerve-seeking,”

The latest treatment is highly effective at eliminating hard-to-treat cancers while causing minimal side effects. Radiation side effects can be severe for many cancer patients. However, a new approach to delivering radiation has shown promising results in treating a difficult-to-target cancer, wi

Still Standing. Still Grateful.
In 2007, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. A year later, I underwent 42 sessions of proton therapy at Loma Linda University Medical Center. That experience changed my life—and launched the journey I’ve quietly shared over the years on my blog.
Today, I’m beyond grateful to say I remain cancer free.
The photos here tell a story of what came next. My wife Tracy Poling and I were recently honored with a Rock Star award for the olive farm we founded together 10 years ago—proof that new dreams can grow even after the hardest seasons. And always at my side: Mr. Samson, our border collie and my four-legged friend through it all.
I know many others haven’t had the same outcome. That’s why I share this—not just as a personal update, but as a message of hope. There is life after a cancer diagnosis. There is purpose, joy, and healing.
Thank you for reading—and for walking this road with me.

I wanted to share some wonderful news: my latest lab results show no change after 16 years following my prostate cancer treatment with proton therapy in 2008. This means my cancer remains in complete remission. I'm proud to be an advocate for proton therapy, which has allowed me to lead a normal life with minimal side effects. How great is that! I understand that not everyone has this outcome, and my thoughts are with those individuals.

Here are three photos: one from May 2008, almost finishing up 42 proton sessions over three months; a recent snorkeling trip; and my best supporter, my loving spouse Tracy, who has been by my side through all these years. Life is good!

This September doc. MUDr. Jiří Kubeš, Ph.D. and a team of our doctors published the results of their long-term work in a prestigious foreign journal “Cancers”. The results of the study, which was conducted over a period of five years, includes data on 853 patients who underwent proton therapy for prostate cancer. The results showed that at 5 years after the end of therapy, 96.5% of patients with low-risk prostate cancer and over 90% of patients with intermediate-risk prostate cancer, were free of signs of the disease (i.e., no re-elevation of PSA blood levels). The results further suggest that the ultra-hypofractionated regimen, which consists of only five irradiation fractions, is an effective treatment for prostate cancer with a low risk of late side effects (toxicity). You can read more about proton radiotherapy for prostate cancer on our website www.ptc.cz . The study mentioned above is available for you at this link: https://1url.cz/
