Our healthcare organization includes the 53-bed licensed acute care hospital, which received Critical Access Hospital designation (CAH) in 2005, and six local physician practices. We employ over 400+ individuals with a medical team comprised of 66 active, courtesy and consulting physicians and nurse practitioners. Our Bloomsdale Walk-in and Pharmacy has a holiday schedule to share. They are closing on Friday, April 3 at 5 pm so there’s more time for everyone to find eggs! And, they will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 5 to share the holiday with family and friends. Sorry for any inconvenience. Saturday, April 4, they will be open. Here’s another myth that needs to be set straight on colon cancer. Being aware of the facts can have potentially life-saving benefits. Share this information with your family and friends.
❌ Myth: Colorectal cancer is fatal.
✅ Reality: Colorectal cancer may be curable when detected early. Over 90% of patients with localized colorectal cancer (confined to the colon or re**um) are alive five years after diagnosis. Unfortunately, only around a third of all colorectal cancers are diagnosed at this early stage. The majority of people come to the doctor when the disease has spread beyond the wall of the colon or re**um or to distant parts of the body, which decreases the chance of being successfully cured of colon cancer (American Society of Colon and Re**al Surgeons).
