Are you suffering from coughing, shortness of breath, wheezing, or wonder why you get winded easily? Perhaps you have wondered if you have asthma, COPD, or other respiratory conditions? We now offer in clinic Pulmonary Function Testing (PFTs) to evaluate your respiratory symptoms.

We are excited to announce we have two staff members certified by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in spirometry testing. If your testing shows low lung function, you may need medications, further evaluation with chest X-rays or CT scan, or a referral to a specialist. Call us today to schedule a PFT test!

Creekside Family Practice is excited to announce we are growing! We welcomed a new part-time Family Nurse Practitioner yesterday. You know what this means? We are looking for a new Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our team.

Job Posting: Creekside Family Practice is looking for a full time Medical Assistant. Candidate must have at least 1 year of medical office setting experience, understand medical terminology, obtain vitals and be able to draw blood at our Salado Clinic. Candidate MUST be able to work Monday-Thursday 7:30-4:30 and an occasional Friday; our office is normally open 8AM-4PM.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
Answering telephones, scheduling, and greeting patients.
Communicating effectively with Clinicians, Patients, and agencies.
Creating, sorting, updating, and filing patient's medical records.
Obtaining, scanning, and uploading insurance forms.
Keeping inventory, ordering lab and medical supplies.
Scheduling and tracking provider appointments.
Sending orders and specialist referrals accordingly.

CLINICAL DUTIES:
Taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and rooming patients.
Refilling medications and processes prior authorizations.
Preparing patients for examination, scribing when needed, and assisting the provider during the examination and/or in-office medical procedures.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and/or perform basic laboratory tests on-site.
Dispose of contaminated supplies and ensuring specimen pick up.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent Medical terminology skills.
Understand pharmacology terminology.
Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
MS Office and Apple IPad knowledge.
Ability to use basic office equipment.
Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma: some college preferred.
Medical Assistant certification (at least 1 year of recent MA experience)
Chronic and Transitional Care Management knowledge is a plus.

REQUIREMENTS:
At least one year of recent experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting.
Excellent Phlebotomy.
Candidate MUST be able to work Monday-Thursday 7:30-4:30 and an occasional Friday; our office is normally open 8AM-4PM Monday-Thursday.
