National Death Doula Day. 🕯️

This work isn't loud — but it matters more than most will ever know.

It's about sitting in the silence when words run out.
It's about holding a hand when nothing else can be done.
It's about accepting what can't be changed, and making sure no one faces it alone.

Today we celebrate the ones at the bedside.
The ones who witness.
The ones who stay.

If you or someone you love is navigating the end of life and could use guidance, presence, and support — I'm here.

🙌💫 A Powerful Day for Compassion in Oregon 💫🙌

Marking a meaningful milestone. HB 4142 has passed its Third Reading in the Senate and is now on its way to the Governor’s desk.

Also known as Ryan’s Law, this moment represents the voices of so many people who believed compassion should have a place within our laws. What once felt like an uphill climb has become real change. 👉🫸⛰️🫸⛰️🫸⛰️

Today we celebrate the advocates, families, and community members who kept showing up, speaking out, and refusing to give up. Your persistence made this possible.

With gratitude, strength, and hope for what this will mean for people across Oregon. 🙌💪💫🌟

It's a wrap, folks. The 2026 short legislative session is over. Sine die was declared late this afternoon.

✨ I’m Honored to Share… ✨

I am now officially an ordained minister! 💛🙏

This meaningful milestone complements my work as an end-of-life death doula, allowing me to offer even more compassionate care and sacred presence during life’s most profound thresholds.

As an ordained minister, I’m now able to:
🌿 Conduct meaningful ceremonies — including memorial services and funerals
🕯️ Officiate rituals that honor each unique life, story, and legacy
💛 Provide spiritual support and guidance for individuals and families
🌟 Offer a more holistic and personalized experience during end-of-life transitions
🤲 Bring ritual and ceremony back to the community

From an earth-honoring perspective, my ministry is rooted in reverence for the cycles of nature — birth, death, decay, and rebirth. I honor the sacred turning of the Wheel, the wisdom of the ancestors, the elements, and the many paths that lead us home.

My work is inclusive and welcoming to all spiritual expressions — Whether invoking the elements, calling in ancestral presence, blessing with the moon, or holding quiet secular space, each ceremony is crafted with authenticity and respect for your beliefs.

As part of my practice, I also assist the living by crafting holistic death and rebirth rituals & ceremonies — honoring the many initiations we experience throughout life. Because death is not only an ending, but often a profound beginning.

It is my deep privilege to walk beside you in life’s most sacred thresholds — My commitment to dignity, inclusiveness, and spiritual presence remains at the heart of everything I do.

In service with love

The Oregon House of Representatives has officially passed Ryan’s Law (HB 4142) by a vote of 39–3–18.

While the margin of support was strong, it would have been even greater had six supporters not been excused for legislative business (18 exc.).

Ryan’s Law permits the use of medical cannabis in hospice and palliative care settings, expanding compassionate options for those receiving end-of-life care. This is an important step forward for dignity, comfort, and patient autonomy in Oregon.

Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly to move this legislation forward and support individuals and families navigating end-of-life care.

The bill now moves to the Oregon State Senate.

If you would like to support this important legislation:
• Reach out to your State Representative to thank them for their support.
• Contact your State Senator and encourage them to vote YES on HB 4142.

Together, we continue building compassionate care options for Oregonians at the end of life.

Alright friends… let’s talk about the thing everyone avoids...

Yes. That thing. 💀

Death.

Before you clutch your pearls — relax. I promise no doom spirals.
Just real talk, practical guidance, and the kind of conversations we should be having.

I’m Death Doula Dena, your friendly neighborhood End-of-Life Doula, and I’ve created a YouTube space where we:

✨ Talk about getting our affairs in order
✨ Normalize legacy planning
✨ Demystify dying
✨ And explore the taboo topic of death

Because here’s the truth: avoiding death doesn’t stop it… it just makes the paperwork messy. 😉

If you’ve ever thought:
“I should really get that handled…”
“I don’t want my kids guessing what I wanted…”
“Why does this topic feel so scary?”

Come hang out with me.

It’s practical.
It’s honest.
It’s surprisingly empowering.
And occasionally? A little dark-humor-approved.

For all you brave souls ready to explore your curiosity (and maybe a little fear) around death and dying ~
