If there was one policy change you could make to transform long-term care, what would it be?

For national aging policy expert Super, the answer is clear: make home care a benefit paid for by Medicare.

On the latest ComForConnections podcast episode, Nora discusses the real costs of home-based, assisted living and nursing home care, and the essential role Medicare should play in covering these services needed by Americans to stay healthy and independent.

Our September 2025 caregiver of the month - John Dickerson!

John Dickerson is a true team player! He has taken on clients needing immediate care with virtually no notice, he has taken clients that are out of his area, he has been willing to take overnight clients when no other caregiver was available, and he has advocated for a client until he knew the issue would be getting a resolution.

We have been told by client's that he is great to get along with and is very funny. A particular comment, "He has Robin Williams kinda vibes".

ComForCare wants to recognize John's dedication to his client's and his genuine enthusiasm he brings to caregiving!

Congrats John on winning Caregiver of the Month for September!

Our August 2025 caregiver of the month - Aya Sato!

Aya has made a remarkable difference in her client's life. Beyond assisting with daily household tasks, she actively encourages him to participate in activities he might otherwise miss. This summer, for instance, she accompanied him on a beach trip and a visit to Crater Lake before its upcoming construction. She has also facilitated family visits and joined him for movies.

Her client deeply values her efforts, noting, "She's so encouraging; she is always telling me that I can do it." Aya consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her client lives his best possible life.

Congrats Aya on winning Caregiver of the Month for August!

Our May 2025 caregiver of the month - Yvette "Evee" Geiger!

Evee is an exceptional caregiver who consistently exceeds expectations. She prioritizes her clients' needs, ensuring they receive the best possible care. Her communication skills are excellent, and she is always willing to assist by staying late or picking up extra shifts.

Evee is a valuable asset to our team.

Recently, one of her clients sent a handwritten letter praising her as a "Superior" caregiver, emphasizing that her caregiving standards are far from average. The client is especially impressed by her performance when she is dusting, "She does not leave a corner untouched while she is dusting".

Our April 2025 Caregiver of the Month - Sierra Luce!

Sierra is consistent, reliable, goes above and beyond to communicate, is a great advocate, and she always reports client changes to the office.

She is literally the sweetest person! She does all the right things for the right reasons, and gives great care to each client she helps. Sierra is extremely flexible. She looks for tasks to complete and ways to help clients, not just do what is on the "task list".

She is so very nice and pleasant to everyone that she talks to, and she leaves people feeling better than she finds them with her kindness.

Congrats on being ComForCare's April 2025 Caregiver of the month!

Meet the Owner - John Hughes

Outdoorsman, Farmer, Passionate Senior Advocate

“If their heart is in the right place, you know they’re going to do a good job.”

“What am I going to do when I grow up?”

I had this thought driving home from the job I had for over 23 years as a software developer. I was facing an impending layoff, the second in three years, and I knew I wanted something bigger for my life. It was important to me to find something fulfilling where I was able to help others in a meaningful way.
