This is big news for Salem and all of us on Derby Street! We now live across the street from a National Historic Park - more than an historic site, our neighbor is now a national historic park and the dedication occurred yesterday with Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll, Sen. Edward Markey, Congressman Seth Moulton and many others. This is good for our city and as a neighbor here at Brookhouse, we are very proud!

Congratulations to the beautiful Hawthorne Hotel of Salem on its 100th Anniversary. Brookhouse Home's own Kate Hann (at left) attended the event last evening which included a block party on Hawthorne Blvd., a classic car show, street vendors and food trucks, and a special photo re-enactment of its 1925 opening day. A wonderful surprise visit from Representatives of the Cummings foundation this morning. Sue Twombly and Barbara Layne handed us a check for $20,000 from their Making a Difference program. This will absolutely make a difference in the lives of the women who live here.
