Yesterday was a truly glamorous day here at Southfork River Therapy And Living as we hosted our Annual Beauty Pageant —and what a fabulous event it was! 💐💄Our residents lit up the room with their beauty, confidence, and joy.

📚✨ Back-to-School Memories ✨📚

With the first day of school just around the corner, our residents spent the day reminiscing about their own school days — sharing stories about their favorite teachers, playground games, and even the lunches they used to pack. Here are just a few answers we had received. 🏫🍎

It was such a joy to hear their laughter and see the smiles as they traveled down memory lane. 💛

Larry “Peanut” Hammond
Senior of the Month
July 2025

• Larry was born and raised in Sturkey Arkansas along with his 2 brothers. They lived and worked on a farm raising cattle, hogs, chickens, and hay.
• He completed High School in Salem and went to work as a truck driver delivering good in his own diesel across country for 30 years. He was also in the Army during the Vietnam Era and was in the artillery division. After his service he worked in Little Rock for a while as a “survivors Assistant”.
• Larry has been married 3 times and is currently single. He has 2 children, a girl Shelah and a boy Steve.
• Larry enjoys dancing, fishing, and playing cards at the Senior Center.
• His most memorable achieving he jokingly said was “sitting behind the Gym with girls” in high school. Also, family reunions, and just being down “on the creek”.
• Larry’s advice to others is to “have a lot of fun and be happy”.
• The most important things to him are “my kids” and “chasing girls”.
• Larry has a great sense of humor and loves to make people around him laugh and have a good time.

🎒📚 Back to School Supply Drive! 📚🎒

We're excited to announce that our nursing home is hosting a Back to School Supply Drive to help local students start the year off strong! 🖍️✏️

We’re collecting new school supplies such as notebooks, crayons, pencils, backpacks, glue sticks, and more. 📓🖊️🖍️

📍 Drop box locations are available at Southfork River Therapy & Living (front lobby), Baxter Health- Fulton County Hospital (ER entrance and waiting room), Town & Country, and Family Dollar/Dollar Tree!

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference! Let’s come together and support our future leaders as they head back to class. ❤️
