Your HRT Might Be Hurting You
HRT isnāt ābad.ā
But giving hormones to a body that isnāt ready for them? Thatās where problems start.
Hereās what most people are never told:
1. Testosterone isnāt just about libido and muscle
It increases red blood cell production.
That sounds great⦠until your body starts pulling from your iron stores to keep up.
š Low iron = fatigue, hair loss, poor thyroid function
š And now your metabolism and detox processes start to slow
2. Estrogen and progesterone need balance ā not just more hormones
If estrogen is already high or not being cleared well, it can block progesterone receptors.
So when you add progesterone?
š You might feel worse
š Think bloating, swelling, heavy, puffy feeling
Itās not that progesterone is the problem ā
itās that your body canāt *hear it.*
3. Estrogen has to be detoxed properly
Your body breaks estrogen down into different pathways.
One of them (the 4-OH pathway) can create compounds that damage DNA if not cleared well.
š This is where long-term risk comes in
š And why ājust take estrogenā isnāt a full strategy
ā
The real solution:
Before adding hormones, you need to understand your bodyās current state.
āļø Run a DUTCH test
āļø Look at hormone levels *and* metabolism
āļø Support detox, minerals, gut, and nervous system first
This is what I call healing the terrain
Because when your body is balanced, hormones work with you ā not against you.
Education, not prescription. Your body deserves personalized care.
And one more thing that might surprise youā¦
A lot of pre and peri menopausal women donāt actually need HRT.
If your hormones feel chaotic ā mood swings, heavy cycles, acne, fatigue ā
thatās often not a hormone deficiencyā¦
š Itās a gut + detox problem
Your gut helps regulate estrogen, clear hormones, and communicate with your brain.
When itās off?
Your hormones will be too.
Heal the gut ā support detox ā balance the terrain ā¦and your hormones often regulate on their own.
