COVID-19 and My Commitment To You
There’s no doubt that the coronavirus (COVID-19) is creating challenges for all of us, both personally and professionally. First and foremost, I hope that you and your family are remaining safe and healthy. I wanted to take a moment to keep you informed of the steps that I am taking to continue to offer the same quality of massage care that you need while providing you a safe environment.
I am continuing to monitor the Oregon Health Authority, World Health Organization, and Centers for Disease Control guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of everyone in my office. Though the situation around the virus remains fluid, my goal is to meet or exceed all provided guidelines.
I always keep my equipment and supplies clean and disinfected, and I have increased both the frequency and scope of these cleanings in accordance with CDC recommendations to help ensure both your safety and my own. Similarly, handwashing hygiene is critically important in a setting like massage, and is something that I continue to emphasize. While I am not a highly public and busy office like a health care clinic, I do see an average of 12-18 clients per week, and the direct physical contact required of massage therapy increases the risk of exposure for myself and my clients.
Here are some of the proactive steps I’m taking:
1. Continuing to stay informed. I’m making a conscious effort to research and educate myself as the situation continues to develop.
2. Reinforcing my Standard Operating Procedures on office cleanliness and sanitation, with additional emphasis on cleaning high traffic areas, such as the table, face cradle/arm rest, door k***s, and flat surfaces that experience a lot of client contact, with a 10% bleach solution.
3. Continuing to wash all massage linens in hot water and dry them on high heat.
4. Continual monitoring of my own immediate family for signs of illness or ill health. If anyone in my household demonstrates any signs of illness I will remain at home until I or they are symptom free for 24 hours to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading infections.
5. Increased emphasis on rescheduling clients that I believe may be exhibiting signs or symptoms of illness until they have been symptom free for at least 24 hours.
Please understand that during this time, in order to ensure the health and wellbeing of myself, my family, and the rest of my clientele and their families, I am asking that you reschedule your massage appointment if you have any of the following signs or symptoms:
Runny nose
Sore throat
Cough
Fever
Difficulty breathing
At this time, I plan to continue to provide superior quality massage therapy services as scheduled. Your safety and wellbeing remain my foremost priority, and I will continue to share updates with you as quickly and transparently as possible. However, should you feel that you prefer not to risk exposure during this time for whatever reason, please feel free to contact me either by text or voicemail at 503-409-3058 to reschedule your massage appointments. Please do NOT email me, as I do not check my email frequently.
Thank you for your continued trust and support in me, and in Superior Massage LLC.
Warmly,
Aleta Goin LMT #7755
