The Fitzpatrick scale was developed in 1975 and is still used today to guide all of our providers in developing the best treatment plans.
👩‍⚕️The Fitzpatrick scale guides cosmetic procedures by helping professionals determine the safest and most effective parameters for treatments such as laser hair removal, chemical peels, and other light or laser therapies.

🧐The six skin types:
Type I: Very fair skin, always burns, never tans, often has freckles.
Type II: Fair skin, burns easily, tans minimally.
Type III: Fair to light tan skin, tans gradually, sometimes burns.
Type IV: Olive or light brown skin, burns minimally, tans well.
Type V: Brown skin, rarely burns, tans profusely.
Type VI: Deeply pigmented dark brown to black skin, never burns, always tans.
