A “Hallmark Holiday” is the sentiment many have of Valentine’s Day. A yearly opportunity for retailers to profit off of “love” ~ gifts of chocolates, jewelry, fine dining. Also, a challenging day for those who may not “feel” love in their lives. How about an alternative to the material expressions on Valentine’s Day, one that may feel a bit more authentic? One that involves self-love, Therapeutic Massage.
When you consciously begin to practice self-love, usually attention and awareness needs to turn inward. Enter the silence and listen... What is it that would truly benefit my “being” ~ physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually? WAIT A MINUTE!! How do I even enter the silence??? I was reminded in one of my favorite poems by Dana Faulds,
To have no goal but to be in the moment ….. Listen with intimacy….
This silence may seem unattainable, considering how loud the head can be sometimes!
No worries, it can be done and I can help! Receiving therapeutic massage will give you access to the silence and present moment awareness. As the body relaxes, the mind will soon begin to quiet as it focuses on sensations in the body, lowering the volume in the mind.
As tension is eased out, muscles soften and energies are freed. Freeing of this life force energy will enhance physical health, reduce mental tension and fatigue, allow challenging emotions to be more accessible and a greater sense of wholeness will be perceived.
Receiving massage on a regular basis is a practice of self-love. Nurture yourself in this healthy loving way, be your own Valentine!
