Yesterday, Salem Crossing proudly hosted a special brunch in honor of our veterans. It was a wonderful morning filled with delicious food, great company, and heartfelt appreciation for the men and women who have served our country.

Happy 250th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps! 🎉

Congratulations Jessica Short, MDS Coordinator, our Quest for Excellence winner for 2025! We are looking forward to honoring this year's outstanding Quest Winners at the banquet on November 13 at the Marriott in Indianapolis.

Jessica has served as MDS Coordinator in the nursing department for the past three of her nine years at ASC. She began her career in long-term care as a CNA in 2003, earning her LPN in 2011, and RN in 2023.

She was inspired to start her career in LTC by her sister who was a CNA. Jessica fell in love with the senior community and has made it her passion. She has steadily climbed the career ladder in positions ranging from CNA, Charge Nurse, Medical Records Coordinator, and other management roles.

Jessica was nominated for her kindness, dependability, and willingness to go the extra mile. She has a positive presence and never hesitates to help her team. Her hard work, dedication, and compassion make a big difference in the lives of our residents, always holding herself accountable for their well-being. She builds great relationships with residents and coworkers alike and strives for excellence in everything she does.

Jessica loves spending time outdoors riding a side-by-side, spending time at the pool, taking trips to the lake house in Michigan, or basically doing anything outdoors. She has a husband, or “partner in crime” as he calls him, Aaron, and two daughters. Her oldest daughter, Natalie, is currently in the nursing program at their local university. Her youngest daughter, Ava, just entered sixth grade. The family has 3 dogs (Rupp, Roxie, and Ruby) and 4 cats (Butthead, Carrot, Smokey, and Oreo).

Jessica’s supervisor describes her as an exceptional employee who is willing to go above and beyond for her residents and coworkers, not only at work, but also outside of work. She truly has a caring heart for people.
