💜💙 Join us for Stillbirth Prevention & Awareness 💙💜

We’re honored to partner with Healthy Birth Day, Inc. to participate in National Stillbirth Prevention & Awareness Day (Sept 19th). This year, the Union Street Railroad Bridge in Salem will be illuminated on Sept. 18 & 19, and we’re hosting a candlelit vigil on the evening of Sept. 18 to honor babies gone too soon.

Our founder, Ashley Rose Doula started Doula Synergy after experiencing the stillbirth of her daughter Lena and recognizing the urgent need for compassionate support for families facing loss. This vigil offers a meaningful way to raise awareness, honor grieving families, and spark conversations that may help prevent future losses.

At Doula Synergy, we believe no family should face pregnancy or infant loss alone. Our founder, Ashley Rose had the honor of sharing her story in support of Oregon House Bill 692, which would expand insurance coverage for postpartum doula care. We’re grateful to The Oregonian for including part of her testimony and helping to elevate this vital conversation.

After the stillbirth of her daughter Lena, she shared:

“We had amazing support in the hospital—but then we came home. The nursery was empty. My breasts were engorged. The flowers were dying. My heart was broken. I didn’t know what to do with myself.”

No one should have to navigate that kind of grief alone.

Doulas offer wraparound care during life’s most vulnerable moments—witnessing birth and sometimes death, honoring babies, validating emotions, nurturing the body, and holding space for healing. They bring food and water, support physical recovery, care for siblings, help around the home, coordinate remembrance rituals, offer grief resources, and provide unconditional presence.

They comfort. They care. They show up.

That’s why Doula Synergy exists. We are working to ensure every loss family has access to skilled, compassionate doula support—and that no one is left to grieve in silence. We’re building a future where doulas are seen as essential care, and families are truly held through life’s most delicate transitions.

đź’ś Read the article and please share to help pass HB 692 and expand access to doula care across Oregon:
https://www.oregonlive.com/politics/2025/06/legislature-poised-to-require-insurance-coverage-for-expanded-care-for-moms-babies.html

A bill to expand pregnant people’s access to doulas and lactation specialists has received broad bipartisan support.

Please join us tomorrow at Salem Health for a Rememberance event to honor the babies and children who left us too soon.

Loss is an inevitable part of birth work, yet many doulas don't feel prepared for supporting during loss. Bereavement training isn’t just an extra skill—it’s an essential part of being a well-rounded, trauma-informed doula.

Families experiencing pregnancy and infant loss deserve doulas who are trained, confident, and capable of holding space for them with care and compassion. They need doulas to show up prepared—not just with love, but with the knowledge and tools to truly support them through the physical, emotional, and logistical realities of loss.

✨ The Missing Piece in Loss Care: Doula Support ✨

At Doula Synergy, we believe that every family experiencing pregnancy or infant loss deserves compassionate, skilled support—but too often, this care is missing from our system.

A recent research article, The Expansion of Doula Support Services for Reproductive Loss, confirms what we already know: Doulas play a critical role in improving outcomes for families navigating miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion, and infant loss.

🔹 Loss is more common than many realize, yet families are left without the support they need.
🔹 Doulas provide emotional, physical, and informational care—bridging the gap when medical systems fall short.
🔹 Integrating doulas into loss care should be the standard, not the exception.

This research validates the urgent need for doulas in reproductive loss spaces, and it fuels our mission at Doula Synergy:

💜 Empowering Families – Ensuring no parent grieves alone.
📚 Educating Doulas & Communities – Training doulas to provide expert loss support.
🤝 Building a Nationwide Doula Collective – Connecting families with compassionate, qualified doulas.
🏥 Collaborating with Providers – Partnering with healthcare professionals to strengthen loss care.

✨ This is why we are here. ✨
