Edward Donald Geheb entered eternal rest April 1, 2026, at the age of ninety-seven years. He was born March 10, 1929, in Beaumont, Texas, to Edward George and Alma (Underbrink) Geheb. Born and raised in Beaumont, Edward was one of twelve children.
Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army until receiving an honorable discharge. During his time in the service, he met the love of his life, Ellen Rose Rottinghaus. The two were married on September 3, 1952, after he first spotted her walking down the street, moment that would begin a lifelong love story. Ellen preceded him in death on August 31, 2013.
Together, Edward and Ellen built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, raising seven children Gayle, Bob, Tom, Pat, Judy, Mary Jo, and Margaret. Edward was a skilled and dedicated man who worked as a carpenter, cattle rancher, and farmer, raising rice and soybeans for many years until his retirement. He built the family home with his own hands and had a natural talent for working on tractors, often building and tinkering with them.
After their children were grown, Edward and Ellen enjoyed traveling together, especially to Mexico and the beaches of Florida, where they loved walking along the shore and collecting seashells.
Edward was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family deeply, especially his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church until his health declined.
Left behind to cherish his memory include his children: Gayle Anderson and husband Gene of Mason City, IA, Bob Geheb of Potosi, MO, Pat Geheb of Potosi, MO, Judy McClendon of Potosi, MO, Mary Jo White of St. Louis, MO, and Margaret Kilman and husband Eric of Kissimmee, FL; eight grandchildren; as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Preceding him in death were his loving wife: Ellen (Rottinghaus) Geheb; son: Tom Geheb; and his parents: Edward and Alma (Underbrink) Geheb.
Edward will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his devotion to his family, and the legacy of love and faith he leaves behind.
