I got to hang out at the Polk County fairgrounds for a Fam Jam event with today when a mama stopped by to chat about her sweet preemie baby needing some help with his upset belly. I was like, well I’m free right now! We pulled out some chairs and I did some work with her tiny little guy while folks gathered around to watch. So fun!

In addition to serving Salem as a craniosacral therapist, childbirth educator, placenta encapsulator, Holistic Pelvic Care provider, postpartum doula, occasional birth doula and even more occasional midwife, I also serve on the boards of and This is the second year I have been on the planning committee for Miles for Midwives, a super fun and family-friendly annual 5k fundraiser for OMC and .oregon . We have been working hard behind the scenes since November, and now’s the time for you to register! Kids under 16 are free, the course is stroller-friendly, the park is beautiful in all weather (last year over 100 of us did the walk/run in torrential rain), and we’re offering a registration discount for groups 10+. Join me on May 17th for Miles for Midwives 2025!

All set up for this weekend’s childbirth class! I have been teaching natural childbirth classes in Salem since 2012, and have talked to hundreds of people about physiological birth and, possibly more importantly, physical and emotional recovery postpartum. Nowadays, I talk a lot about things to look for in the babies - head turning preferences, nursing preferences, recessed chin, head shape issues, etc etc, and I’m so thrilled and impressed when my students have me over to meet their babies and point out all of these things to me that they knew to look for. I could (and do!) talk about this stuff all day long.
My April and May classes are full, but I have some room in June and beyond!
