July is UV Safety Month! While protecting your skin from the sun is essential, some people experience allergic reactions to sunscreen, such as rashes, redness, or itching.

If you’ve noticed irritation after applying sunscreen, you may have a sunscreen allergy or sensitivity to certain ingredients.

Choose mineral-based sunscreens (with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide)

Avoid fragrances and harsh preservatives

Talk to an allergist for safe sun protection options tailored to you

Need help finding the right sun protection? Talk to an allergist at Allergy Partners to get personalized guidance and stay safe in the sun all summer long.

A gentle reminder from your Allergist, that a healthy environment means healthier lungs, happier sinuses, and fewer allergy flare-ups!

Air pollution, pollen levels, and climate change all impact our immune systems more than you might think. This year's theme encourages us to restore our ecosystems – and that includes the air we breathe.

What you can do:
- Check local air quality reports
- Use air purifiers and keep windows closed on high pollen days
- Be good to the planet

Breathe easy, live well – and let’s care for the planet that cares for us. 🌿

Air pollution doesn’t just affect the environment—it impacts your health.

Poor air quality can affect everyone, but it’s especially serious for people with asthma
or allergies. Even short-term exposure can lead to coughing, shortness of breath,
wheezing, and eye, nose, and throat irritation.

Protect your health by checking the air quality in your area, limiting outdoor activity
on high pollution days, and using clean air strategies at home. Learn more by

Allergy & Asthma in the News: A Link Between Tick Bites and Meat Allergy?

According to the latest CDC data, there has been a steep increase in cases of alpha-gal syndrome, a rare meat allergy from tick bites this year, and may have already impacted as many as 450,000.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-66333478

Here's Dr. Bill McCann, Allergy Partners Cheif Medical Officer, on the rare condition:

"We often see alpha-gal, and diagnose via a complete medical history and blood testing. Families can protect their loved ones with awareness, diligence, and tailored avoidance diets while maintaining a healthy diet. For those affected, the allergy can wane over time, and following serial blood work, could be able to reintroduce meat into their diet over time."
