Parents, caregivers — we’ve got something new for you! 💕

Starting this Friday and every first Friday of the month, we’ll be offering an early (7–9 AM) Car Seat & Safe Sleep Clinic.

Our team will help with:
👶 Car seat checks & installations
🛏️ Safe sleep education
🎁 Free cribs for qualifying families

We already offer these services daily, but we know early morning hours can make it easier for busy parents, so we hope this helps!

WIC clients if you need any of these services as well please do not hesitate to ask during your appointment!

With next week’s lows expected to dip into the 20s, we want to make sure everyone in our community has what they need to stay warm. So far, thanks to your generosity, 16 coats and 6 blankets have already found new homes, but there are still neighbors in need.

If you have gently used coats, blankets, scarves, or gloves, please consider donating them to the Dent County Health Center. Every item helps bring warmth and comfort to someone right here at home.

And if you or someone you know needs a coat or blanket, please don’t hesitate to stop by — these items are here for you.

Drop-off & Pick-up: Dent County Health Center
1010 E. Scenic Rivers Blvd, Salem, MO | (573) 729-3106

Let’s show what community care looks like — one warm coat at a time.

We had an awesome day with the R-80 5th graders at our FIRST EVER Mini Maze event! 🎉

Students learned how to create strong passwords, understand the dangers of social media, why it’s never okay to get into a stranger’s car, even if they claim to be a friend of your parents (because as many kids said, their parents don’t have friends! 😂), how to decompress after a tough day, how to use an SOS signal in an emergency, make healthy nutrition choices, and understand the risks of va**ng.

A huge thank-you to our amazing partners, sponsors, and Teens on Prevention (TOP) students for making today such a success! 💙 We had a blast and can’t wait to see everyone again next year!

Flu cases are starting to rise within our region, so now's the time to protect yourself before germs come give you a scare.

Remember to wash your hands often
Get your flu shot
Cover your coughs and sneezes
Stay home if you feel sick!

Don't let the flu haunt your Halloween, a little prevention keeps your family healthy and your candy stash safe.

We are gearing up for a special day with R-80 5th graders for our first annual mini-maze this Thursday!

But we want to quickly thank our amazing sponsors and partners.

Our Mini Maze event wouldn’t be possible without the generosity, time, and heart of our incredible community partners.
From donations to hands-on volunteering, each of you helped make this event a success — guiding students, sharing knowledge, and showing what teamwork looks like in action.

A huge thank you again to:
Phelps Health , Home State Health, Town Screen , KSMO Radio/Your World Today, Whiskey's Resort Boarding and Daycare, Town & Country Bank, Four Rivers Community Health Center, Compass Health Network, Jonah Schafer - American Family Insurance, Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association, Council for a Healthy Dent County , Salem Police Department, Salem Public Library, and Inman Insurance

We’re so grateful for your continued support in helping Dent County youth learn, grow, and stay healthy.

We’re so thankful for our friends at Salem MO Mutual Aid for sharing these opportunities for free meals, clothing, and household items right here in our area. Together, we can make sure no one faces the season alone.

If you or someone you know needs a little extra warmth this winter, remember that Dent County Health Center is also collecting coats, scarves, gloves, and hats during our annual Winter Coat Drive (we are in high need for our littles). Donations and pickups are available at 1010 E. Scenic Rivers Blvd., Salem, everyone deserves to stay warm this season.

Raise your hand if you have ever been victimized by AHA. 🙋🏼‍♀️ Don’t know your blood pressure? Swing by next week and get it checked!

All those hours logged in the driveway are about to pay off. Some research suggests that active kids may be at lower risk for heart disease as adults. But it’s still important to know your numbers! If you’re 18 or older, get a blood pressure check every year, even if you’re healthy.
