Salem State Recreation Management Concentration The Recreation Management concentration is about caring for people, saving our environmental & historical resources, and having fun!

As we've learned during the pandemic, recreation is vital for our mental, physical, emotional and social health-join us! Located in the SMS Department, the Recreation Management concentration focuses on finding ways to contribute to our individual and community health and wellness and that of our environment. From the management of parks and public spaces to the development and management of progr

ams that benefit people of all ages, this concentration studies everything from our history as a nation, to our governmental challenges, to how to reach people of all ages to leave a positive mark on our lives. If you want to be challenged both in the classroom and in real life (we almost always have a "real" hands-on project in class), this is the concentration for you! The faculty for the program have been engaged in state parks management, coaching, the development of recreation programs, environmental education, aquatic management, and recreation therapy. Students benefit from the development of strong relationships, challenges in the classroom, and by being ready for life outside the classroom.

We had a fun, successful week last week at Co****le for Community. Hope to see a few more friendly faces this week - 217 O'Keefe from 11-1. Stop by, play a round or four, have something to drink/snack on and have a bit of fun on a winter Monday. If you don't have a team, just show up - you can always join one or we can create a new one. We hope to see you there!
