Yesterday was my official start as a telehealth doula and childbirth education provider with Maven Health. I have to say, I was incredibly worried that there wouldn't be a demand or a need for virtual doula support. Boy was I wrong! By the end of the two hours I was on I had already received five bookings and the two that I met with same day want to continue to see me. I am so happy that I took the leap of faith and applied for the position because now I am able to provide the much needed doula access to people who otherwise would not have the doula support. Maven is making doula care accessible for all who want the experience of a doula. I cannot be prouder to be a part of the Maven Member Experience!

I'm excited to share that I have joined Maven Health! Maven started as one of the original tele-health companies in 2014, but since then have grown to cover 15 million lives in 175+ countries. This is an exciting opportunity for me to continue to bring doula accessibility to birthing families all over the world via the Maven tele-health platform!

Last year was a challenging year for me, personally, and professionally. 2025 I am hoping will bring stability and growth as I continue to settle into my new norm.

Professional goals to look forward to in 2025 include expanding my offering Postpartum Overnight Care and Newborn Care Services to birthing families.

Educational goals: I am in the spring cohort for my educational hours for IBCLC program through Lactation University.

Family goals: letting go of the things I cannot control in my family and stop worrying about everyone else's perception of me or my family. I'm going to ask when I need help but won't have the expectations that anyone will this way I don't have this continued sense of disappointment.

Mom life is amazing and rewarding, but God it is hard. In the past 14 years I've pretty much lost myself along the way. In 2025 I'm taking the steps to relearn who I am.

It’s officially the start of my NYC Marathon training program with Every Mother Counts! 18 weeks is going to fly by!!

What better birthday gift can I get/give back than running the NYRR for Every Mother Counts!? Over the moon with excitement, sprinkled with a whole lot of fear. This is my first marathon in 10 years, not to mention first after my foot surgery!! 2014 was the last time I ran a marathon in Chicago. This will be my 10th marathon, 2nd Abbott Masters, and feels like a first! Fundraising details to follow. I cannot wait for this journey. It begins one week from today when I run Milwaukee Half Marathon! Pinch me!!

Normally for my birthday I help raise $$ for a nonprofit near to my heart. This year is no different, but my announcement for who I am raising funds for will be delayed until next week. I am over the moon with excitement for my selection for my 50th revolution around the sun! Stay tuned, and thank you for the birthday love. It’s just a number!!

It has been a minute since I posted last. I have been busy over the last six months working hard on increasing my knowledge and doula skills. All my hard work has paid off. I’m happy to share that I am now a certified Body Ready Method Pro! What a great way to start World Doula Week! I am looking forward to bringing the BRM tools into the births I support!

I am excited to be starting the Fall 2023 Cohort for Body Ready Method and learning from all of the amazing professionals who are leading the way in transforming the way doulas support birthing families! As a result of my continuing education, I am lightening my load and closing the doors for any new births between now and March of 2024. I look forward to being able to offer the BRM method to all new clients when I am accepting clients again!
