If you are a manual therapist it is important to have some form of self cultivation/self care routine that you do daily. If not, instead of feeling energized after seeing a client you may feel drained. Over time some begin to have structural issues with their necks, shoulders, backs and hands.
Also, if you have cultivated a practice yourself, it allows you to share that information with your clients, and you will know for a fact that positive effects will be seen.
At its core, qigong and self development are about gaining a high degree of connection to ourselves and our own unique self. This better enables us to gain a deeper connection and understanding of those we serve. Thus making self care/cultivation the highest priority for the most serious of practitioners. Taking care of your self is the best thing you can do to be the most successful in all aspects of practice.
In my upcoming TuiNa course, I will teach a series of cultivation exercises in detail. If you do these exercises the way shown, I am extremely confident from 20 years of teaching them and 30 years of practice, you will see results.
I will be teaching at Daniel's Institute of Massage in Roanoke, Va.
