Tomorrow night!!π»ππ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
The City of Salem is preparing for the Salem Chamber of Commerceβs annual Haunted Happenings Grand Parade, scheduled for Thursday, October 2 at 6:30pm. At the direction of Mayor Dominick Pangallo and Police Chief Lucas Miller, the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Salem are implementing enhanced public safety measures for the festivities. This year, for the first time, the entire route will be lined with metal pedestrian barricades. Once the parade has started nobody will be allowed to enter, exit or cross the parade route until the parade has ended. Due to the time it takes to deploy all the barricades, Salem Police will be closing roads starting at 4:00pm Thursday October 2nd and roads won't be open again until after the parade has finished. Parking along the route may be impacted starting on Wednesday, October 1st.
The Parade will begin at Shetland Park and proceed down Congress Street to Derby Street, take a right on Central Street, then Front Street, to Washington Street, then proceed down the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall and end at the Common. At the end of the parade, all vehicles in the parade will exit at Washington Square South and those walking in the parade can proceed onto the Common.
