SATURN-NEPTUNE 00 Degrees Sabian Symbol: A woman has risen out of the ocean, a seal is embracing her.’
Saturn-Neptune aspects throughout history have shown things that have been secreted away and revealed secrets, groups, and conspiracies. I want to share a bit about the Sabian Symbol for the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at Aries Zero Point occurring this week. The symbol states, ‘A woman has risen out of the ocean, a seal is embracing her.’
Contemplating this auspicious time in history and meditating on the symbol, I came to see the seal differently. Rather than the mammal of the sea, I started seeing a vision of an emblem-like seal around the rising woman, embracing her, and she, in return, holding that seal. Either of these conjures up the images of Sedna for me, an astrological asteroid I do not regularly work with. However, in this time of reckoning and a hopeful restoration of balance between humanity and nature, I point her out here.
The myth of Sedna is one of betrayal by her father, who throws her from a kayak into icy waters, and as she tries to get back into the craft, he cuts off her fingers. The Inuit story is one of transformation as well. Her fingers are changed into marine mammals that sustain the Inuit, and she is the Mother of the Sea or the underworld.
Sedna represents the sad transformation of a victim of abuse by a male figure into a survivor who is vital to survival. She represents a dark archetype and is seen as a collective awakening. Another interpretation could be of a mermaid finding her feet and voice. I chose her to have hands in my creation, for as we find our footing and voices we will need out hands to carry out the work to be done. This is a new beginning of a new consciousness.
In the US Sibley chart, we find Sedna in the sign of Pisces and in the 3rd House of communications, indicating a long-term Karmic theme regarding how the nation communicates. By transit this week, we find her in the 6th House of service, workforce, health and safety, suggesting a reckoning with how we in the US treat our workers and public health.
Now add to the mix that the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at the Aries Point 00º in the Sibley Chart 3rd house is about to move into the 4th of roots, ancestry, and home. What was once an ‘ideal’ container (Saturn) will be transformed by dissolving (Neptune) into newer visions. Homeland Security is about to get a much-needed hosing down! Was it ever what we were told it was?
This conjunction, integrated with Sedna now moving in the 6th House, is where much of the USA’s soul-work will be done, as this house will demand that the shift we are entering be done on a daily basis. Short-cuts to our nation’s public health and working class are no longer acceptable. Karmically, the USA must face how it has managed systems and truly be in service to the people. This Saturn-Neptune conjunction is a catalyst for the nation to correct its course.
The reset has already begun. Can you feel it? I see it in the many groups I speak to and watch, especially those led by woke women and men. Those who take ‘service’ as a true and heartfelt call are the spiritual warriors of this new era we are entering. I am grateful and honored to know them.
How do we ground into this with Saturn, Neptune, and Sedna’s energies?
Adopt Instinctual Rhythms: Daily routines should include ‘quiet time’ or meditation to create inner clarity needed to manage systemic stress
Transmute Betrayal into Sovereign Service: Engage in selfless service like volunteering at hospitals, animal shelters, libraries, or labor advocacies.
Maintain Psychic Self-Defense: It is ok to say no or yes, only to that which is in your best interest first. Boundaries are crucial.
Establish Spiritual Containers: Create a disciplined daily practice, such as a fixed time for meditation, journaling, or walking. Putting it on your calendar really helps!
Information Boundaries: Reduce digital input. Replace doom-scrolling with ‘observing’ your own reactions to maintain mental sovereignty.
Healing Ancestral Wounds: Use this time for personal deep reflection or therapy to address ‘karmic baggage’ related to family or national identity.
