Each year, we’re honored to join the Alzheimer's Association Rhode Island Chapter Caregiver Conference alongside members of multiple LCB community leadership teams.

This annual event gives us the opportunity to share our Walk in Their Shoes dementia simulation—an immersive, body-based experience that helps caregivers more deeply understand what their loved ones are going through.

We were honored to welcome David Kim, Concertmaster and first chair violinist of the world-renowned Philadelphia Orchestra.

From the first note, the room was completely captivated. His artistry, passion, and remarkable presence created an unforgettable experience for our residents and associates alike. It’s not every day you enjoy a performance by a musician whose career has graced some of the most prestigious stages, including Carnegie Hall and the Juilliard School.

We were honored to celebrate our resident Ambassador, Bob, whose dedication and craftsmanship continue to make a meaningful impact within our community and beyond. Through his beautifully handcrafted jewelry, Bob raises both funds and awareness for Parkinson’s disease—turning passion into purpose.

It was a privilege to welcome Senator Maggie Hassan to Salem Woods as she presented Bob with the Granite Stater of the Month Award, recognizing his extraordinary commitment to giving back.

In a month dedicated to Parkinson’s Awareness, it felt especially meaningful to raise a glass in celebration of Bob—his talent, his generosity, and the difference he continues to make.

What began as a simple act of giving—creating bracelets in support of the Alzheimer’s Foundation—quickly grew into something far greater than Bob ever imagined. Today, that passion has evolved into a mission, with Bob raising over $2,000 for the Parkinson’s Foundation—an impact that has been tripled through generous matching contributions.

We recently enjoyed a visit to the Addison Gallery of American Art on the Phillips Academy campus—an experience that was both inspiring and deeply personal.
