Residents were truly captivated as Allison from Ali D’s Backyard Bees brought the fascinating world of honeybees to life through stunning slides, videos, and heartfelt storytelling. Inspired to take up beekeeping in honor of her father’s legacy, Allison shared not only the science behind the hives but also the personal meaning it holds for her.

Residents eagerly asked questions throughout the presentation, fascinated by the bees’ remarkable teamwork and productivity. A highlight of the afternoon came when Allison brought one of her hives for residents to explore, even giving them the chance to carefully hold a real honeycomb!

The program ended on a sweet note with tastings of light, dark, and creamed honey — plus a small sip of mead, the ancient honey beverage once enjoyed by Vikings. Before heading home, each resident walked away with an organza bag filled with honey and bee-inspired treats! A special thank you to Allison for sharing her hobby with us, to say it was well received is an understatement!

Salem Woods was transformed into a tropical oasis for our Tropical Paradise Party! Residents, families, and friends soaked up the sunshine while the Pan Loco Steel Drum Band brought the sounds of the Caribbean to life.

Guests enjoyed a delicious selection of island-inspired passed hors d’oeuvres—from Coconut Shrimp with Cilantro Crema to Mojo Pork Cuban Sliders, Pineapple BBQ Meatballs, and more—crafted by our talented culinary team. Tropical cocktails, including Blue Lagoons and Piña Coladas, were served in fresh pineapples for a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association, adding the perfect touch of paradise to the day.

It was an afternoon filled with music, laughter, and community spirit—all for a wonderful cause. A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us in supporting the Alzheimer’s Association and making this event a success!

They say laughter is the best medicine, and we certainly got a good dose of it! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and joined us for our Comedy for a Cause fundraiser. Our dining room transformed into a comedy club as residents, families, and friends came together for an evening filled with laughter, community, and a delicious meal prepared by our culinary team. Renowned Boston comedian, Steve Bjork, had the entire room in stitches with his performance.

Congratulations to one of our families who took home the raffle basket prize—and thank you again to all who helped make this unforgettable night possible!

Our residents enjoyed a fascinating trip to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, where they explored exhibits highlighting JFK’s life, legacy, and impact on the nation. From captivating multimedia displays to historic artifacts, the visit offered an inspiring glimpse into one of America’s most influential leaders. We ended the day with lunch in the cafe overlooking views of the Boston!
