Medical, Mental Health, Counseling, and Dental care for the uninsured. SFC had it's beginnings as an outreach dream of West Salem Foursquare Church.

Salem Free Clinics (SFC) is committed to sharing the love of Jesus as we provide quality healthcare to the uninsured in Marion/Polk Counties free of charge. The first patient was seen in their home. We set up PVC pipes and sheets in the gym of Walker Middle School for clinic each 1st and 3rd Friday beginning in 2005. In October 2009 we moved into our first "permanent" facility on Portland Road in Salem and in September 2010 we moved into our new clinic at 1300 Broadway NE #104 Salem, OR. We are lovingly supported by close to 400 volunteers. In 2014 these individuals donated the equivalent of 15 FTE to the clinic. As the Affordable Care Act started in January 2014, we "waited" to see how our patient volume would be affected. We were amazed that, while our number of patient visits didn't increase, we were able to assist the same number of people in 2014 as 2013. We estimate, about 1/2 of our patients qualified for and obtained insurance (OHP). That is nothing short of a miracle. We provide primary medical care/mental health & some dental services to patients on varying days of the week each month. Appointments can be made by calling 503-990-8772 Mon-Thur from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. We have a satellite location for primary care at Trinity Luthern Church in Dallas, OR (320 SE Fir Villa Rd) on the 1st & 4th Saturday in the mornings. This clinic is walk-in from 7-11 a.m. Through a partnership with Corban University we are also able to offer free counseling services. Appointment are made by calling 503-689-1585. We partner with Salem Health (inc. West Valley Hospital) to provide individuals in our community with aftercare from ER visits. SFC also works with Marion/Polk County Medical Society to assist patients with obtaining medication through the MedAssist Program as well as additional medical care through the Project Access Program.

Salem Free Clinics began with a few volunteers working together to meet their neighborhood's top needs. From this simple idea, we have grown into a 21-year community-driven clinic. Our volunteers, patients, partners, and supporters believe everyone deserves dignity, access, and hope. Today we celebrate the lives touched, the prayers shared, and the countless moments of healing.

Laughter filled the room on October 23rd as comedian Michael Jr. took the stage—but his message went far beyond jokes.

He shared how one simple act of kindness changed the course of his life early in his comedy career. Michael Jr. impressed upon us the importance of generosity and what it can do the same for people in our own community. It could change their life like it changed his.

By the end of the night, 32 people signed up to become monthly donors to Salem Free Clinics—the most we’ve ever had at a single event! 💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a night of laughter, purpose, and the power of kindness in action.
