Some of you might just see beauty in that face, others see a refined sense of pedigree. Still others might feel the gaze of a timeless mystic comforting their soul. All of these takeaways, however accurate, undervalue the power of desire to acquire more food. Call her persistent, or call her the heir to the wisdom of Rumi, but do not overfeed her. Unlike the Buddha’s revelation about suffering, some things are more clear, like Pearl Porkchop’s weight. This is why, regardless of how much food you feed your Dog, you should serve them food as if it’s the greatest experience of their life. And, if they’ve been served up semi-dysfunctional weirdness (eg; underbite’s, weird hips, allergies), than make the gift of mealtime extra healthy. Kibble Sprinkles are the super-healthy treat that elevates living. So, like Porkchop’s lower nosemouth, live life elevated. kibble

Throwback to Pearl Porckchop when she was on The Lil Ewok Fanzine. I wasn't worried about her being around all the adult actors since she had been acting for a long time and doing some improv with adults. But, there were longish days where she was put under a lot of pressure to perform (this was before there were union limits regarding how many hours a puppy could be on set). Also, Lucas was a slavedriver. He and I had heated words on a couple occasions, primarily around how the puppies were being educated at the studios and on the forest moons of Endor shoot. Our girl was unable to attend public school during the filming, and Laura and I did not want to see Porkchop get behind on her ceramics or Latin. As the magazine suggests, she was most happy when the caterers pulled into the lot. The delicious Logray pita chips may have been an early inspiration for her kibble sprinkles Miss Pork Chop

Here we go! This is like Fruity Pebbles to a six-year old human, (if Fruity Pebbles were also healthy and mostly organic). Maybe crack is a better example? Not crack for kids, or dogs, just the addictive nature associated with crack. …and not that I have ever done crack, because dogs don’t do crack. Everyone knows that. -Miss Pork Chop

Thanks to the entire team ! It’s always fun to work with young photographers learning craft, primarily patience. Most of my early years were spent eating the things I was supposed to shoot. The first time I led a phodography clinic, I learned that the best food photographers are picky eaters…Poodles, Yorkies, Priss Maltese’ …what else? Oh, Bichon Frise, Pekingese, Boston Teniers and of course, Greyhounds. I once had an assistant Greyhound named Anton, they wouldn’t eat crap, literally. Even if they were starving, which they generally were. But what a great film changer. Anton was fast. But I need to call out a tribute to Princess, my personal Photog and living legend. She is always there for me (princess, thank you for rebuilding the Hasselblad while I was in Banff with Tony and the Taos crew).

We were just chilling in my library, talking Dumas and the short stories of George Saunder’s, and boom, the flash goes off (You got me again Annie!).
