What I Offers in My Practice:
Traditional Japanese Acupuncture
I was trained in Japanese acupuncture; which uses smaller gauge needles and gentler techniques than traditional Chinese acupuncture (which most Americans are familiar with). This is a great asset for sensitive patients or for those who have had bad experiences with needles. I strive to be gentle but effective in my treatments and hope you feel that I have done just that.
Facial Acupuncture
I expounded my acupuncture skills into cosmetic acupuncture in 2016 and have enjoyed offering treatments to you all for any ageing, beauty, and “pampering” needs. Facial/cosmetic acupuncture was a certification beyond my regular acupuncture licensure and I am proud to have gone through all the extra training to acquire it.
Sports Medicine Acupuncture (SMA)
I have been learning this sub-type of acupuncture for most of my career but wish to make you all aware of this skillset. This sub-type of acupuncture addressed muscle/tissue imbalances, orthopedic injuries, full-body rebalancing, and injury recovery/prevention. This includes motor point therapy, postural assessment, rehabilitation exercises and stretching beyond just acupuncture treatments.
TuiNa (Chinese Medical Massage)
This type of massage was taught in acupuncture school(s) and is one of the modalities covered under an acupuncture license. It is similar to deep tissue massage and focuses on acupuncture channels/points. I feel it rebalances the entire body and treats multiple muscular, joint, and structural imbalances. It can be performed in conjunction with acupuncture.
Chinese Herbs
I have the privilege of studying in a school that made sure to put Chinese herbal studies in the forefront of their curriculum. I have found formulas to be a great addition, or even treatment themselves, for ailments you may be suffering from. I keep external formulas (plasters, tinctures, pills) for immediate trauma needs on hand at my Salida office, as well as, formulas for colds/flus/and allergies. Other formulas I order in on a case-by-case basis. Prices will vary per formula.
