Tuesday Tidbit! Do you know the origins of chiropractic care?

D. D. Palmer performed the first adjustment on a janitor named Harvey Lillard in 1895. Mr. Lillard had been rendered nearly deaf after hearing a “pop” in his spine 17 years earlier. When D.D. Palmer examined him he found a misaligned vertebrae which he adjusted back into place. Afterwards, Mr. Lillard’s hearing began to improve dramatically.

We’re kicking off August with our Oil of the Month, Copaiba. This oil is derived from the resin of trees native to South America and was used extensively by the native people of the area for medicine.

As an essential oil, Copaiba can be diffused to grant a soothing aroma to a room, or its calming fragrance can be mixed into cosmetics or massage oil.

Additionally, it can be added to food or drink such as an herbal tea and ingested to promote general wellness.

We have two sizes available in our office: a 5mL bottle for $33 or a 15mL bottle for $65. Stop by and give it a sniff during our special hours tomorrow from 9AM to noon, and keep an eye on our page this month for diffuser blends you can make with it.

Our limited Saturday hours start THIS WEEKEND, August 2nd with Dr. Dalton. He will be in the office from 9AM to 12 PM.

Going forward, Dr. Dalton will be working the first Saturday of every month from 9AM to 12PM while Dr. Jake will be in office the 3rd Saturday of every month from 9AM-12PM.

Walk-ins are welcome or schedule an appointment ahead of time by calling 785-827-7779 or going to rappwellness.com.

The office will also be open for sales of support products such as biofreeze, and you can come in to do therapy as well.
