Wow that image says a lot! Prayers for the safety of the firefighters and property owners in the path of the fire!

It’s wild to imagine the scale of this fire. The actual footprint is even bigger than it looks here, because steep terrain means the actual burned surface area (canyons, ridges, slopes) is much larger than what you see in this top-down view.

The pink section represents the fire’s footprint so far, pulled from the Fire Information for Resource Management System website. I added the yellow overlay to help visualize just how large this fire is compared to the valley towns (which are not inside of the fire perimeter).
