Join us in congratulating our Value in Action Employee of the Month, Sidney Rupe, Emergency Department nurse. Her dedication to health and patient safety makes us !

Sidney has been a nurse for more than five years and has worked in the Salina Regional Emergency Department for over a year. After facing a life-altering medical diagnosis in 2023 that required multiple surgeries, treatments and six months away from work, Sidney was inspired to bring her strength, compassion and resilience to emergency medicine.

In the ER, Sidney collaborates closely with physicians, laboratory services, radiology, pharmacy and other interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. She cares for trauma and stroke patients, triages incoming patients, and provides critical bedside support during procedures.

“My coworkers are an invaluable source of support,” Sidney says. “They stand beside one another during challenging shifts—whether managing a crowded lobby, navigating difficult patient interactions, or pushing through emotional and physical exhaustion—and they are equally present on the best days, offering encouragement, understanding and moments of laughter that sustain us through even the most demanding circumstances.”
