Aloha, My Name is Melissa Martin. My yoga journey began after taking a few months off from the gym. The classes I typically took part in, incorporated weight lifting, interval training, and running. I was looking for something less strenuous on my muscles and joints and was introduced to Yoga in 2015.
My first class was a Hot Vinyasa Flow Class and I loved it. The class was challenging, but afterwards I had an overwhelming feeling of relaxation. I tend to be very high energy, anxious, and somewhat scatter brained. Yoga has taught me to breathe, relax, and live in the present. After about 10 months and loving the way it made me feel, I decided to become a yoga teacher.
I completed Yoga Alliance Appoved RYT-200 Power Vinyasa Training in June 2016 and RYT-500 in October, 2019 with The Melting Spot School of Vinyasa in Owasso, Oklahoma.
I enjoy many styles of yoga, but my favorites are Hot Vinyasa Flow and Power Vinyasa Style Classes. However, I can teach all from Restorative, Gentle, Teen Yoga for Athletes, and Deep Stretch as well.
I moved from Oklahoma to Honolulu, Hawaii in October 2019 to follow my dreams and teach yoga full time. I decided to combine two of the things I love most..... Yoga & Music....Reggae music mostly! I want to give back to my community and have a fun mindful backdrop with an Ocean View to do it from. Join me in my Donation Based Yoga Classes and Let me share my practice with you.
My Ultimate Goal is to do what I am SO passionate about and share my yoga practice with others. I love learning new postures, practicing inversions, and teaching others how to push themselves to try new things.
Practicing Yoga keeps me centered, strong, mindful, and has given me a more positive outlook on life. It is where I find my happy place and I strive to be a healthier me because of it.
Yoga means Union – The Union of Body, Mind, and Soul. I am passionate about sharing the benefits of a yoga practice with others and want to prove that it can be beneficial to everyone regardless of size, age, or gender.
