This past week, our Men’s and Women’s Groups were pleased to welcome guest speaker Dalton Wassenberg from the Chiropractic Wellness Center here in Salina.

Dalton shared helpful insights on overall wellness, managing pain, and how chiropractic services can play a supportive role in improving daily comfort and mobility. During his presentation, he highlighted key wellness terms that residents could also find on the Chiro Edition Bingo cards he provided making the session both educational and fun.

The interactive format, along with time for questions and discussion, made for an engaging and enjoyable experience for everyone who attended.

We sincerely appreciate Dalton taking the time to visit Reflections and share his knowledge with our community.

A Blessed Christmas Season at Reflections Retirement Resort
We have truly been blessed with a beautiful Christmas season at Reflections one filled with joy, fellowship, and the warmth that comes from sharing special moments together. Thanks to the many wonderful group performances and the dedication of our staff, the season was rich with meaningful gatherings and cherished holiday traditions.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Christmas without our annual bus outing to view the Christmas lights. Residents enjoyed a cozy evening taking in the festive sights, including a special stop at Olivia’s Park, complete with hot cider and cookies that made the night even sweeter.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Kim, Emily, and Celeste for planning our festive pajama party what a delightful evening of laughter, fun, and togetherness! These thoughtful touches are what make the Reflections family so special.
We are also incredibly grateful to the talented groups who took time out of their busy schedules to share their gifts with us this season, including:
• Bell Choir
• Tamra Howe Dancers
• Coronado Choir
• South High New Dawn Singers
• Sacred Heart Choir (middle and high school groups)
• Salina Middle School Guitar and Choir Group
• Our very own Glenn and Paula, who shared beautiful music on guitar and violin
• And the many caroling and church groups who filled our dining room and halls with Christmas cheer
From music and lights to laughter and fellowship, this season was a beautiful reminder of how truly blessed we are. Thank you to everyone staff, performers, and friends who helped make Christmas at Reflections so meaningful. 💖

Reflections Hosts Annual Resident Christmas Dinner Party

Reflections recently hosted its annual Resident Christmas Dinner Party, a cherished tradition and a beautiful way to celebrate the Christmas season together as a Reflections family.

The evening was filled with warmth, fellowship, and joyful moments that truly reflected the spirit of the season.
Residents dressed in their festive best and enjoyed the opportunity to have their photos taken, capturing memories that will be treasured long after the holidays.

From the very beginning, the atmosphere was one of celebration and togetherness.
The dinner itself was exceptional. Our talented dietary staff thoughtfully planned and prepared the entire meal from delicious appetizers to a wonderful dessert and every detail was outstanding. The care and effort put into the meal did not go unnoticed, and it added so much to the special feel of the evening.

Following dinner, residents and staff were treated to musical performances by Paul Austin and Jennifer Clumsky. The night concluded with a heartfelt rendition of “Silent Night,” as everyone joined in singing together a truly meaningful and memorable moment.
It was a blessing to spend this time together, celebrating Christmas as one community. Judging by the smiles and shared laughter, the staff enjoyed the evening just as much as the residents. Moments like these are what make life at Reflectionsso special.

Reflections “Honey Bees” Women’s Group had their glamorous Christmas Photo Shoot

This Christmas season, the Reflections “Honey Bees” women’s group were not going to let the men have all the fun. With the holidays in full swing, the ladies decided it was time to shine and show off their festive spirit in style.

In a stunning Christmas photo shoot, the “Honey Bees” made sure to bring their A-game festively dressed in furs and sparkles. They were determined to make sure they wouldn’t be outdone by the men, and judging by the photos, they’ve certainly succeeded.

Whether they were cozy in their winter wear or dazzling in their holiday best, the “Honey Bees” made one thing clear this Christmas, they were simply beautiful.

Birds of a Feather Flock Together at Reflections!

This week’s “Birds of a Feather Flock Together” event brought together both our Reflections Men’s Group and our Honey Bees Women’s Group for a fun and memorable gathering!
Our special guest was none other than Paco Bell, a beautiful parrot who quickly became the star of the afternoon. A heartfelt thank you to Judge
Greg Bell and his wife Marsha, for taking the time to visit Reflections and share their beloved companion with us.

We learned that the Bells have had Paco Bell for 12 years, and that parrots can live an average of 35 years a fun fact that surprised many of our residents! Everyone had the chance to hold Paco Bell, ask questions, and enjoy a close up experience with him.
It truly was a wonderful time filled with smiles, curiosity, and feathered fun for all! 🦜💛

Reflections Men’s Group Welcomes Guest Speaker Jeff Rittel
The Reflections Men’s Group enjoyed a meaningful and engaging gathering this week as they welcomed guest speaker Jeff Rittel, son of Reflections resident LeRoy Rittel. Jeff shared stories from his long and dedicated career in the fire service, along with some fun and fascinating facts that kept everyone captivated.

Jeff began his journey as a firefighter and paramedic in 1986. Out of 125 applicants, he was proudly one of the top four chosen. His commitment to the profession carried into the next generation as well. In 2014, Jeff and his son were honored by the Salina Fire Department for their “family tradition,” recognized as one of the few father–son duos serving together.

Residents were intrigued to learn that the pants worn by firefighters are called bunker pants, and that their full protective gear can weigh between 50–70 pounds.

Jeff also shared a bit of firehouse history. The beloved Dalmatian dog became the symbol of firefighters because of its early role running alongside horse-drawn fire engines. These intelligent dogs helped clear the path, guarded the horses and equipment, and kept the animals calm. Even after trucks replaced horses, the Dalmatian remained as a cherished mascot—a tradition still honored today.
It was a wonderful session filled with stories, learning, and appreciation for the men and women who dedicate their lives to keeping our communities safe. Thank you, Jeff, for sharing your time, knowledge, and legacy with our group!

Honoring Our Reflections Veterans on Veterans Day🇺🇸

This Veterans Day, we gathered at Reflections to honor those who dedicated a portion of their lives to serving our country. It was a meaningful time of gratitude, remembrance, and celebration.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Nikki with Gentiva for joining us and helping make the day extra special. Nikki invited each veteran to share the branch of the military in which they served, along with their years of service.

Nikki then presented each veteran with a commemorative pin and a personal note of thanks, a small gesture that meant a great deal to those who received it.

After the presentation, residents enjoyed fellowship together along with patriotic-themed refreshments. It was a warm, uplifting time spent reflecting on the courage, dedication, and service of our Reflections veterans.

To all who served, we thank you, we honor you, and we celebrate you. 🇺🇸
