✨ The Benefits of Pediatric Physical Therapy ✨

Every child deserves the chance to move, play, and grow to their fullest potential 💙👣. Pediatric physical therapy helps children develop the strength, coordination, and confidence they need to thrive in daily life.

👶 Early Support – PT can address developmental delays, helping kids hit important milestones like crawling, walking, and running.

🤸 Improved Mobility – From balance and coordination to flexibility and posture, PT builds a strong foundation for movement.

💪 Injury Recovery & Prevention – Gentle, guided care supports healing and reduces the risk of future injuries.

🌟 Boosts Confidence – As children gain independence in movement, they also grow in self-esteem and joy!

Meet the newest physical therapist to join our Ryan Ranch team!

As a former collegiate soccer player, Moncef Bouzar’s passion for movement and performance laid the foundation for his journey to becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

Dr. Bouzar earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Whittier College, where he played on the men’s soccer team. He went on to receive his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Chapman University. During his time in school, he also became a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), deepening his understanding of strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, and human performance.

Clinically, Moncef has a strong interest in orthopedics, with a particular emphasis on motor learning and motor control. His treatment approach centers on the individual—placing focus on each patient’s goals and unique experiences. He believes that lasting progress comes from understanding the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

Rooted in Algerian heritage and shaped by a rich Francophone cultural influence, Moncef brings a diverse perspective to his practice. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys staying active, playing sports with friends and spending time exploring the hidden gems of the central coast.

Welcome to the team Moncef! 🙌

If your hamstrings feel tight no matter how much you stretch them… it’s probably not just a flexibility issue.

It could be poor pelvic control, nerve tension, or limited hip mobility — and stretching alone won’t fix it.

Train the right patterns, free up the hips, and your “tight” hamstrings will finally feel normal.

📩 DM me HAMSTRINGS and we’ll get you set up with the right plan!

Should You Have Pain While Exercising? 🤔

When you're in pain, exercise can be difficult to perform. However, it is important to consider the level of pain during the exercises and how do you feel after the exercises.

✅ Normal Discomfort:

Muscle burn during a workout

Mild soreness 24–48 hrs after

Temporary fatigue

Light pain (0-3/10 pain)

🚫 Pain That’s a Red Flag:

Sharp, stabbing, or sudden pain

Pain that worsens during the activity

Swelling, bruising, or loss of motion

Pain that lingers or gets worse over time

💡 Rule of Thumb:
If it’s discomfort from working your muscles, that is actually what you want to feel and what will mitigate pain for the longer term!

📅 If you’re unsure, a physical therapist can assess what’s safe and help you exercise without fear of injury.

Most people think they’re training hard… but in reality, they’re just exercising.

If you’re not pushing close to your limits, you’re not giving your body a reason to adapt.

You don’t have to go to failure every session — but you do need to challenge yourself enough to see change.

Meet the newest physical therapist to join our South Salinas team!

Dr. Jack Lee, PTLA, DPT is a dedicated physical therapist from Taiwan, driven by a passion for human anatomy and the meaningful connections formed through patient care. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, he spent six years in clinical practice—founding his own therapy studio and launching an educational program to train fellow therapists in evidence-based, patient-centered care. His pursuit of professional growth, along with a deep appreciation for American culture and nature, led him to Loma Linda University in Los Angeles, where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and served as a teaching assistant in orthopedic clinical courses.

Jack specializes in sports injury rehabilitation and chronic pain management, with a focus on nerve compression syndromes that cause pain, numbness, and tingling. With advanced expertise in movement analysis and biomechanics, he helps athletes recover safely and return to top performance. He also works closely with middle-aged and older adults, identifying the root causes of discomfort and restoring function through customized care combining manual therapy and targeted therapeutic exercise.

His approach is deeply patient-centered, built on communication, trust, and a commitment to individualized treatment. Whether you’re healing from injury or managing long-term pain, Dr. Lee empowers you to understand your body better and return to the active life you enjoy.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Lee finds balance in hiking California’s national parks, cooking, and singing—activities that keep him grounded and energized. He brings that same energy into his work, helping patients move better, feel better, and live better.
