🤲Educating and supporting our community is at the heart of what we do!

Lauren King, Provider & Communications Team Leader, and Jeffrey Gadow, Volunteer Services Manager, both from Coastal Hospice, had the pleasure of speaking with the Dorchester Dementia Caregivers Support Group at Chesapeake Grove Senior Center.

It was a meaningful conversation full of tips, resources, and support. We love connecting with our community and sharing the ways Coastal Hospice is here to help, because no one should face serious illness alone.

November was an exciting month for Donor Relations!

🍺🦪🎶We kicked things off with a guest bartending stint at Burley Oak Brewing Company, where the always perfectly pitched duo of Margot & Val set the tone while Dan from Fallen Pine Oyster Company delighted guests with locally grown, ice-cold oysters.

🪩🍷🕺👠 Next up, bell-bottoms, psychedelic prints, and platform shoes made a triumphant return at Sobo's Wine Beerstro Disco-themed Ladies Night. Four courses of fantastic food, perfectly paired with delicious wines, had us all ready to do the Hustle!

🎄🥂🖤💍Just days later, Coastal Hospice was honored to have several spectacular trees included in Evolution Craft Brewing - Public House annual Black & Bling extravaganza. A big thank you to our team members and partners, Ashley Haldeman of PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Georgetown, Institute of Aesthetic Medicine, and community member Caitlyn Evans, for sharing your creativity and generosity.

These small but mighty fundraising events are truly meaningful, helping us connect with our community, raise awareness about our services, share new opportunities for involvement, and raise money for Coastal Hospice Charity Care.🩵

Stay tuned, more winter events are on the way, and we may be popping up near you!

Providing support to our communities is crucial and an honor we hold close to our hearts.

💛 Coastal Hospice’s Joel Belier, Supportive Services Team Leader; Chaplain Lissa, Spiritual Counselor; and Melissa Richbark, RN, had the privilege of leading a memorial service at Gull Creek Senior Living Community in Berlin, remembering 19 beloved residents lost over the past eight months.

The service brought together residents, families, and staff for a meaningful time of reflection, remembrance, and connection. We are deeply grateful to Gull Creek Senior Living for their partnership and for allowing us to support their community during such an important moment.

For 45 years, Coastal Hospice has ensured every patient and family facing serious illness is honored, supported, and comforted, receiving the right care at the right time throughout their journey. 💙

This holiday season, honor a loved one through our Be an Angel appeal. Donate using the address or phone number on screen, or visit www.coastalhospice.org/be-an-angel.

Your angel’s name will be written with love on an angel ornament and placed on one of 13 trees throughout the four Lower Eastern Shore counties we serve: Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester. 🎄✨

A heartfelt thank you to 47 ABC - WMDT for supporting our Be an Angel appeal and for hosting a tree at your station.

The Children's Grief Awareness Day theme for 2025 is "Champions of Hope," highlighting ways in which we can all provide hope to those grieving the loss of someone special.

Children’s Grief Awareness Day is a time to recognize the unique ways children experience and express loss, and to remind communities that grieving children need understanding, compassion, and support. Coastal Hospice programs play a vital role in this mission by offering specialized grief counseling, bereavement groups, and family-centered resources that help children navigate their emotions in safe and nurturing environments. By addressing grief openly and providing age-appropriate support, hospice teams empower children to heal, express their memories, and find hope in the midst of loss—ensuring that no child has to grieve alone.

Coastal Hospice also works in partnership with The Personal Wellness Center and Lifemark in the Salisbury area to continue to meet the needs of the grieving children in our area. Please feel free to reach out to any of these organizations if you or someone you know has a child going through grief. It would be our privilege to connect with them in their loss and emotions.
