Compassion, kindness, and community are alive and well at Stephen Decatur High School. 💙

We are incredibly touched by the students from the Educators Rising Club, National Honor Society, Morgan’s Message Club, Varsity Lacrosse Team, Cheerleading Team, and so many others who took the time to create beautiful handmade cards for our Coastal Hospice patients and their families. During some of life’s most difficult moments, these heartfelt messages bring comfort, encouragement, and reminders that no one walks this journey alone.

Their support does not stop there. Students from Stephen Decatur also continue to volunteer at our Coastal Hospice Thrift Shop, located right next to the high school, helping sort, organize, and prepare items for sale in support of our mission.

We are incredibly grateful for the many deliveries of handmade quilts, blankets, knitted squares, yarn, and thoughtful creations we receive from caring individuals and groups throughout the four Lower Eastern Shore counties we serve and even from afar. These heartfelt donations bring warmth, comfort, and peace during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Winter and Spring are the perfect seasons to get out into our communities by supporting local businesses, raising funds for patient care, and sharing our mission of providing expert, dignified, compassionate hospice care to anyone in need, regardless of their ability to pay.

From bartending for tips at Burley Oak Brewing Company and Cypress Roots Brewing Company, to unleashing our inner Disco Diva at one of Sobo's Wine Beerstro famous charity dinners, cheering on bidders at Evolution Craft Brewing - Public House Black & Bling (we had four trees up for bid!), and crafting beautiful, pressed flower pieces at the Art League of Ocean City MD, the fun never stopped. We also felt the love from Tides & Vine, Crimson Coward, Johnny's Tavern, The Greene Turtle, Blue Ruin, and Jamie Petrides Catering, who generously donated a portion of their sales to support our cause.

Bingo fever even struck! The Sterling Tavern hosted a music bingo night, and we packed the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. for our own evening of prizes, raffles, food, and BINGO fun.

Providing support is what we do, and we were honored to have a table at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore campus with UMES Counseling Services for their “Out of the Darkness Campus Walk” in partnership with the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention. We were grateful for the opportunity to provide support, share information, offer giveaways, and walk alongside participants all because mental health matters. 💚
