Happy Rainy Hump Day! It feels like Fall is coming, although we really aren't in a rush to have Summer come to an end.
As the weather starts to cool off, more of us get outside and stretch our legs for some short and longer runs. It feels amazing to get those endorphins flowing and always a priority to avoid any kind of running related injury to keep up with the activities that we love.
Something to consider in your cross training as a runner is working on a single leg bridge. In a study of 867 marathon runners preparing for the NYC marathon, those that could hold a singe leg bridge for at least 20 seconds had a 64% lower risk of developing a running related injury compared to runners who could only hold a single leg bridge for 0-9 seconds.
