The One Where Maggie Goes to Preschool ✏️📚🚌
Except preschool came to us today!

We are incredibly fortunate that the preschool through our public school system felt it would be best for Maggie to begin Pre-K at home. This gives her team time to truly learn Maggie, how she communicates, what she needs and allows time to get equipment in place before kindergarten.

It also gives me so much peace of mind having her close by and helps us feel better about not exposing her to school germs just yet.

Maggie will receive sessions with her teacher, PT, OT, speech, hearing, and vision services. Today was a short but sweet first visit; meeting her teacher and reading one of her favorite books. 📚

💕 The Road Back to SMILE
Supporting Emmy & Maggie as we raise $4,000 to return in February 2026

We’re at SMILE Therapy for Kids in Burlington, ON right now, and Emmy & Maggie begin another intensive tomorrow morning! 💖 The therapy they receive here is vital to their growth, development, and health. They love being here — and we’re so grateful to share this with another CASK family who truly understands.

But the cost is big: 🚗 travel, 🏡 housing, 💪 therapy. We save where we can (like sharing a home), but each trip still requires significant support.

✨ This year’s all-new design honors many of the things Emmy & Maggie have in common: a love for flamingos, music, and the water, g-tubes and avocados as the base of their nutrition and health, and the CASK gene itself. The back celebrates the character traits both girls — and so many kids with CASK — embody.

Our goal: $4,000 to cover housing + deposits so we can leave this trip knowing our home and therapy spots are secured for February 2026. 💕

We are 2 weeks away from Maggie’s 4th intensive therapy with SMILE Therapy for Kids in Burlington Ontario! To help cover the expenses of this trip we are hosting a Sip and Paint night 🍷🎨 Join us for an evening of fun, creativity, snacks, and drinks! We are hosting this event on September 5th from 7pm-9pm and 6th from 4pm-7pm. Each evening has 30 seats available! This event includes a tote bag with a pre drawn design for you to paint (or blank if you’re feeling super artsy), art supplies, and a charcuterie spread. Feel free to bring whatever beverage you fancy! So share, gather a good group of friends, and join us for a fabulous evening!!
