Three cheers for our July Everyday Hero, Pharmacy’s Ebony Cook, who literally goes the extra mile to help her patients, team members, and covered entity partners.

As a floater pharmacist, Ebony consistently steps in to cover shifts at pharmacies in Louisiana and Texas, sometimes for weeks at a time. These assignments demand a solid grasp of pharmacy operations, the ability to adapt to new settings, and a calm, confident demeanor.

But what makes Ebony truly stand out is her willingness to go above and beyond without hesitation, says Avita Pharmacist-in-Charge Kristy Poche. “She consistently steps up to do whatever is asked of her,” Kristy shares. “And she handles everything with professionalism and poise.”

To help our covered entities promote HIV testing during National HIV Testing Day and throughout the year, created the Erase the Doubt campaign, which breaks down barriers to HIV testing by addressing stigma and misinformation with compassionate and informative messaging.

Through a variety of engaging materials, it encourages individuals to take the first step toward knowing their HIV status, emphasizing early detection and its role in living a healthier life.
