This is a very powerful time to practice Loving Kindness Meditation. For yourself, for us all, for our country.

The traditional words we often use are:

"May I be filled with Loving Kindness.
May I be well.
May I feel peaceful and at ease.
May I be happy."

I also advocate writing your own words, or using the words the Walk for Peace Monks offered which are listed below. Be sure to send those wishes to yourself, as well as to all beings. I have been using these words myself as often as I remember, just driving around town or anytime I find myself mired in fear, grief or anger, which is very often these days.

Additionally, I sincerely advocate sending those words to someone you may be furious with, as counter-intuitive as that is. As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. famously said:
"Hate cannot conquer hate. Only Love can do that.”

The video is of the Loving Kindness Meditation led by the Venerable Bhikkhu Paññākāra on Wednesday, February 11th at Georgetown University. Here are the words he uses, as well as some practice suggestions from the monks.

"May I be free from resentment and conflict.
May I be free from physical suffering.
May I be free from mental suffering.
May I be free from danger.
May my body and mind be at peace.

May all beings be free from resentment and conflict.
May all beings be free from physical suffering.
May all beings be free from mental suffering.
May all beings be free from danger.
May all beings, bodies and minds be at peace."

📿 PRACTICE SUGGESTIONS
🌙 Before Sleep: Play this softly. Let the voice guide you into deep rest.
🌅 Morning Commute: Listen with eyes open. Start your day with Metta.
🧘 Deep Practice: Sit in silence. Repeat silently or out loud. Feel each phrase.
❤️ To Help Someone in Pain (physical or emotional):
Dedicate this meditation to them. Send loving-kindness.
